Staff training courses for your team,
£35 per person
One payment gives a member of staff 12 months of access to every course we run: 130+ CPD accredited titles covering food safety, health and safety, safeguarding, GDPR and workplace skills. They take what their role needs, at their own pace, and download the certificate the day they finish.
No per-course fees and no minimum order, and buying several licences at once earns a discount on the £35 list price. There is no annual platform contract to sign either.
Pay by card via Stripe. Instant access, certificate the same day. 14-day money-back guarantee.
Worth knowing before you buy: we sell individual licences, so there is no admin dashboard or team reporting. Staff download their own certificates and send them to you.
What online training for employees usually costs
Employee training is normally sold in one of two ways. Per-course providers bill for each subject each person takes. Bundle platforms bill an annual fee per user and set a minimum number of users. Both get expensive the moment one person needs more than one subject.
Swipe the table sideways to see the cost for a team of five.
| How it is priced | Published price | A team of five |
|---|---|---|
| Per-course provider One subject, one person | £10 to £130 per course | £50 to £650 for one subject each |
| Annual bundle platform, entry tier Five users minimum | £660 a year for 5 users (£132 each) | £660 a year, five users whether you need five or not |
| Chefs Bay Academy 130+ courses, 12 months | £35 per person, less in bulk | £175 at list price, no minimum |
Five people trained with us is £175 at list price, and less if you buy them together. The same five on an entry-tier bundle platform is £660 a year. The gap widens with every extra subject: a kitchen porter who needs food hygiene, allergens, manual handling and fire safety costs the same £35 as one who only needs food hygiene.
What one £35 seat gives an employee
Built around shift work rather than office hours.
Certificates for the staff file
Every course ends with a CPD accredited certificate the person downloads themselves. That is the paperwork an EHO, an auditor or a new client normally asks to see.
New starters train on day one
There are no classroom dates to wait for. Buy a seat, send the login, and someone can be trained and certificated before their first shift.
Works on a phone
Courses run on a phone, tablet or desktop. Shift workers can pick a course up between services rather than losing a rota day to a classroom.
Unlimited retakes
If someone does not pass first time they can sit the course again as often as they need inside the 12 months, at no extra cost.
Compliance training for staff, by sector
Hospitality staff training and care sector training come out of the same library as the manufacturing versions, so a mixed site buys one thing instead of three separate packages.
Restaurants and cafes
Food safety training for staff starts with Food Hygiene Level 2 for anyone touching food, plus Allergen Awareness for kitchen and front of house. Supervisors and head chefs add HACCP Level 2 and Food Safety Level 3 from the same seat.
Hotels
One seat covers housekeeping, reception, kitchen and maintenance without buying four separate course packages. Most hotel teams work through Fire Safety, Manual Handling and Health and Safety in the Workplace, then add Customer Service for front of house.
Pubs and bars
Licensed venues have their own training list. Bar teams take Responsible Sale and Service of Alcohol (separate courses cover the English and Scottish licensing regimes), cellar staff take Cellar Management, and anyone on the floor late benefits from Drink Spiking Awareness.
Care homes
Care staff need safeguarding and infection control kept current, and one seat covers both plus whatever else comes up that year. Safeguarding Adults, Infection Control, Managing Medication and Understanding Dementia are the usual starting point.
Nurseries and schools
Early years rooms usually begin with Child Protection Awareness, the EYFS course (England; check the current framework version for your setting) and British Values and the Prevent Duty. Anyone working in the nursery kitchen adds Food Hygiene Level 2 on the same £35 seat.
Food manufacturing
Production floors need the manufacturing versions rather than the catering ones, and all four sit in the same library. Food Hygiene and Safety Level 2 for Manufacturing, HACCP Level 2 for Manufacturing, Food Allergens in Manufacturing and TACCP and VACCP Level 2 cover the core training topics an audit asks about (the audit itself will also look at your documented systems and records).
Getting a team trained in three steps
Buy the seats you need
One payment of £35 per person, by card through Stripe. Buy a single seat or twenty. For several at once, email us first: bulk orders are discounted and can go on one invoice.
Staff log in and pick courses
Login details arrive by email once payment clears, and the confirmation page after payment carries a set-up link as well. Each person works through whichever of the 130+ courses their role needs, at their own pace, on any device.
Certificates the same day
A CPD accredited certificate downloads as soon as a course is passed. Staff send theirs across and you keep it in the training file.
Questions employers ask
One. Each licence is a single login for one member of staff, valid for 12 months, and it opens all 130+ courses rather than a single subject. A team of six needs six licences, which is £210 in total.
Yes. Buying several licences at once earns a discount on the £35 list price, so email workwithus@chefsbay.co.uk with the number of people you need and we will quote you and arrange a single invoice or a purchase order. Each person still gets their own individual licence, their own login and their own certificates.
Not at this stage, and we would rather say so before you buy. What we sell is an individual licence per person: their own login, the full 130+ course library, and their own certificates to download. There is no manager view, no team reporting and no progress tracking across your staff. If seeing everyone's progress on one screen is what you need, a per-seat platform with an admin panel will suit you better, and it will cost considerably more.
No. There is no minimum number of users and no annual platform fee. Buy one seat for a new starter today and another three next month if that suits your rota.
Email workwithus@chefsbay.co.uk within 14 days of purchase and we refund any seat in full, provided no certificate has been downloaded on it. Refunds go back to the card you paid with.
Each person completes courses under their own login and downloads their own CPD accredited certificate for the courses they passed. If you need to see a certificate before you commit to seats for the whole team, ask us at workwithus@chefsbay.co.uk.
Stripe emails a receipt for every payment, which covers most bookkeeping and expense claims. For a formal invoice or a purchase order arrangement, email workwithus@chefsbay.co.uk before you buy.
Access is emailed as soon as payment is confirmed, and the confirmation page after payment also carries a set-up link, so training can start within minutes. Short courses such as Personal Hygiene and Presentation take about 15 minutes and Fire Safety takes about an hour, while Food Hygiene Level 2 runs 4 to 5 hours, which still fits inside a single day.
All 130+ of them, across hospitality, health and safety, health and social care, workplace skills and food manufacturing. Nothing is held back behind a higher tier, and there is no per-course charge on top of the £35.
Access runs for 12 months from the date of purchase. During that year staff can take as many courses as they like, retake anything they did not pass, and download every certificate they earn.
Only by collecting the certificates. There is no manager dashboard, so staff download their own certificate and forward it to you, and you keep it in the training file. That certificate is the evidence an inspector or auditor asks for. Reporting across a team is something we may add later; it is not available today.
No. Food Safety Level 3 and HACCP Level 3 cost the same as a 20 minute refresher, because the £35 buys the whole library for the year rather than individual courses.
