Active bystander training looks at the role of a colleague who notices inappropriate behaviour at work. This 30-minute course covers recognising that behaviour, considering a response and supporting someone affected by it.
What does the course cover?
The outline introduces what an active bystander is and the key workplace laws covered by the course. It then looks at types of inappropriate behaviour and taking action through the Five Ds of intervention. Supporting colleagues and reporting concerns are separate topics in the outline.
The focus is on witnessing a problem and understanding the part a colleague can play. It gives you a subject to discuss alongside your employer’s own reporting arrangements, including where to take a concern and who can offer support.
Certificate and related learning
Successful completion leads to a course completion certificate. Tayl describes a downloadable, printable PDF certificate after the required quiz answers are correct. The certificate records completion of this course.
For the behaviour itself, explore Bullying and Harassment. Equality and Diversity is a separate course covering a wider workplace subject. Read each outline to choose the learning that fits your role.
All 130+ courses in the training bundle are included in one price per person for your selected access term. Each plan includes the same courses; compare the access periods before choosing your plan.
